RICHMOND, VA – The SD-09 Nominating Committee has amended the list of polling locations where Democratic voters in the Ninth Senate District will be able to cast their ballots during the February 26, 2023 firehouse primary.
The location at IBEW 666 (1400 E Nine Mile Rd, Highland Springs, VA 23075) will no longer be used as a polling location for the February 26, 2023 firehouse primary.
“We recognize that IBEW 666 has endorsed a candidate in this nomination contest. Though we thank them for opening up their space to us for the firehouse primary, in an effort to maintain the integrity of this process, the SD-09 Nominating Committee has voted unanimously to remove this location from the list of locations where firehouse primary voters may cast their ballots,” said Liam Watson, Press Secretary for the Democratic Party of Virginia.
The SD-09 Nominating Committee and the Democratic Party of Virginia will work together to ensure that the IBEW 666 location will have the necessary volunteers and signage in place to direct voters to other polling locations. The amended list of polling locations is as follows:
- Ashland Municipal Building - 121 Thompson St, Ashland, VA 23005
- Charles City County Administration Building - 10900 Courthouse Rd, Charles City, VA 23030
- East Henrico Government Center - 3820 Nine Mile Rd, Richmond, VA 23223
- Virginia Union University Living and Learning Center - 1500 N Lombardy St, Richmond, VA 23220
Voting in the firehouse primary to fill the unexpired term of Congresswoman-elect Jennifer McClellan will be open from on Sunday, February 26, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
