RICHMOND - Following President Trump’s tweet instructing Republicans in Congress to stop negotiating a COVID stimulus package, Chair of the Virginia Democratic Party Susan Swecker released the following statement: 

“While Virginians across the Commonwealth are suffering the fallout of his botched response to the pandemic through their health and their pocketbooks, Donald Trump is denying them any additional relief in order to push his destructive agenda. Trump needs to stop the political games, and instead of focusing on striking down the Affordable Care Act in the Supreme Court and  stripping protections for 3.5 million Virginians with pre-existing conditions, he should get back to the negotiating table and deliver real relief now for Virginia’s working families and small businesses.”
